Story and Craft Club

Story and Craft Club have been having a blast this half term! We’ve read some lovely stories and made some interesting craft based upon them. Take a look!

Bedtime Stories Event

On November 22nd we welcomed all children back to school for a bedtime stories event! The children returned in their PJs, dressing gowns and slippers along with cuddly toys, cushions and blankets ready for a cosy story time in their classrooms.

What a magical time we had! It was lovely to see so many families enjoying stories, a drink and a biscuit too.

World Book Day:

On March 3rd, we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of World Book Day. This year, the focus was on 'we are a reader'. Being a reader has 6 key points:

1 Being read to regularly;

2 Having books at home and school;

3 Finding time to read;

4 Having trusted help to find a book;

5 Giving children a choice in what to read;

6 Making reading FUN.

As part of our World Book Day celebration, we encouraged the children to take part in our 'Book in a Box' challenge, where the children interpreted their favourite text in their own way. We were thoroughly impressed by the efforts!

Sponsored Read:

During the Autumn Term, the children were invited to take part in a sponsored read/lesson. I was thoroughly pleased to award the certificates to the children who helped to raise £300 for new books!
